A portion of our proceeds for this bout went to the Humane Society of South Carolina in Columbia. The mission of the Humane Society is to end animal cruelty, neglect, and overpopulation by offering low cost spay and neuter surgery and investigating reports of animal cruelty. In addition to their spay/neuter program and investigative services, they offer a program to help manage colonies of feral cats. They promote responsible pet ownership and offer presentations regarding the humane animal care.

 

The Biggest Hitties of all Time 9/25/11: The Palmetto Health Breast Center

A portion of our proceeds for this bout went to the Palmetto Health Breast Center in Columbia. At the Palmetto Health Breast Center, their dedication to improving women's health has earned them the status of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Along with partial bout proceeds, several Regulators volunteered to have their breasts cast in plaster, decorated by local artists and sold to the highest bidder. For our last bout of the season, we worked with the Columbia Firefighter's Association to raise funds and awareness for the families of two firefighters who were hit by a driver while putting out a brush fire along the side of I-20 a few weeks ago. FF Chance Zobel and FF Irvin remails in critical condition. The Columbia Firefighters came out to show their support and collected donations for the families.

Fat Bruiseday 2/20/10: Happy Wheels

Each week both MUSC and PHCH (Medical University of South Carolina and Palmetto Health Children's Hospital), volunteers push a cart loaded with an average of 90 colorful new toys and books around the hospital, letting each child pick his or her favorite. The cart, loaded with toys and books, offers a free gift to all the children whose maladies include cancer, heart and lung diseases and other numerous other problems.
